Our Story

A number of years ago, when we were still living in New Zealand, I remember listening to a sermon series on Biblical Parenting. The foundational verses of the series came from Deuteronomy 6:

‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.’ — Deuteronomy 6:4–9

As a new believer, I realized that I needed to bring God’s word into our home and be faithful in sharing the gospel to my own children, by raising them with the knowledge of what God has done in Christ, so that they could be saved through believing. One of the ideas I had to accomplish this was to create wall prints that displayed Scripture. This was inspired by my memories of the scripture on the walls of my grandmother’s house. Even though I was not a believer at the time, I remember finding the scripture fascinating and wanting to understand it. After putting scripture up on our own walls, people began to comment on it.

Why?

‘Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.’ — Romans 10:17

‘For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.’ — 1 Peter 1:23–25

In accordance with the Great Commission:

‘“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”’ — Matthew 28:19–20
